Tip 1 – Who Cares?
“Before I ever sit down and actually write a story I always tried to take a step back and think from the perspective of someone who isn’t me who wasn’t there and didn’t experience this thing is it a unique or interesting experience is this something that other people would actually be interested in hearing about”
Tip 2 – How? Why?
“Don’t tell me that the market is bustling tell me why it’s bustling what is going on in this market that gives you this sense that it is bustling.”
Tip 3 – Pull Me In
“If you don’t within the first 20 or 30 words of your post I’m probably not going to read it. It’s really important to make your opening line or your opening paragraph really good. One of the ways that you can do that is hinting it’s something to come.”
Tip 4 – Get That Sh*t Out
“You just need to get the idea out you need to get the loose story structure out there and then go back and refine it later.”
Tip 5 – Use Dialogue
“When someone comes up to you and says ‘Hello madam do you want this?’ it sets the scene it helps me understand not only where you are and what it looks like but also how people are interacting with you it gives it a kind of human element.”
Tip 6 – Don’t Judge
“My last tip don’t be a judgmental douchebags nobody likes that. It’s one of the things that you have to remember if you want to be one a good travel writer.”
