We are currently in our annual winter break, during which we carry out comprehensive maintenance and overhauls on our historic steam locomotives. This meticulous maintenance work is essential to ensure the locomotives are in perfect working order for the upcoming 2025 season.

- The Brienz Rothorn Railway is a historic steam cog railway. Therefore, passenger capacity is limited, and on nice summer days, you may experience long waits or even a sold-out train. To avoid these inconveniences, we recommend purchasing a ticket with a seat guarantee in advance. - In case of high guest volume or technical failure of a steam locomotive, diesel locomotives may be used for guest operations.
- Our train compartments can accommodate eight people. We utilize available capacity and do not offer private compartments.
- Please note that the steam train causes noise and steam.
